You will find these often at odesk--
Instead of spending time, effort and budget on getting likes (which only inflates the ego), why not concentrate on engaging your target audience, and generating content on your website?
1000 likes (hits, +1's, whatever) will not add anything to your conversion rate. It's like the popularity game kids play in high school. Everyone else wants to be popular, but when you look inside, it's empty.
When I am looking for something I want and stumble upon a facebook page with 10,000 likes, I get curious. I click on like, and see what kind of interaction there is on the page. 8 out of 10, I unlike the page right then and there if the page doesn't give me what I was looking for.
In the end, the profitable websites are popular not because of the number of up-votes they get, but because they offer us something that we want.
